SHILLONG:
Refuting claims of presence of Formalin in fish arriving from Andhra Pradesh, the Khasi Jaintia Fish Wholesalers’ and Retailers’ Association said that the government should send an investigation team to Andhra Pradesh to glean facts on the matter.
Speaking to the press after holding a meeting of the association, president of the association Mitchell Wankhar said, “We want clarity as Andhra Pradesh has been very clear with the process and the packing is also a scientific method.”
He went on to say that testing of the fish should be done everyday and he questioned as to the reason why the issue of Formalin in fishes surfaced every time before the MP elections.
