SHILLONG:
Troops of 43 Bn BSF Meghalaya in a joint operation with Meghalaya police, seized trucks loaded with huge quantities of dry betel nuts from the international border of South Garo Hills.
The joint operation was carried out in the bordering area of Gaonbari, under the jurisdiction of Rongra police station, where two trucks loaded with dry betel nuts worth Rs 40 lakh were confiscated and seized. The trucks and consignment were handed over to Rongra police. An FIR was lodged for further action.
