SHILLONG:
State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Ernest Mawrie, on April 3, said that the party is preparing for the elections to the Sohiong Assembly seat, slated for May 10, and has in fray a young and dynamic candidate.
Speaking to media persons on the expectations of the party from the constituency, Mawrie said that if the people vote for the BJP, it will be a plus point for them and the state as a whole.
Briefing on the Lok Sabha elections, Mawrie said that the party has formed a Lok Sabha Prabhas, and elected one convener and three co-conveners who will work on the Prabhas.
He said that the main intention of the BJP now is to strengthen the party.
It may be reminded that polling to the Sohiong Assembly seat was adjourned due to the sudden demise of party candidate and veteran politician HDR Lyngdoh.
