BJP certain of forming govt in state: BL Santhosh

Santhosh was speaking at a programme held at Laban Sports Club Indoor Stadium organised by the South Shillong unit of the party.

SHILLONG:

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national general secretary (Organisation), BL Santhosh, on September 4 claimed that his party will form the government and the chief minister will be from the party after the 2023 assembly elections.

Santhosh was speaking at a programme held at Laban Sports Club Indoor Stadium organised by the South Shillong unit of the party.

“The BJP will have to win as many seats as possible in the upcoming elections so that the state can reap the benefits of development like in other states ruled by the BJP,” he said.

On his part, the Santosh asked those present at the meeting whether they were satisfied with only two MLAs in the assembly.

Those present said that they were not even as he urged the party workers to work hard so that the BJP’s numbers can be raised from single digit to double digits in the 2023 assembly elections.

“We have to have at least 20 legislators to rule the state so that the state can see development in the road sector, drinking water or others,” he said.

Santhosh also urged the citizens to vote for the BJP so that the party can lead the government.

“No party can form the next government without the BJP. The BJP will have its own chief minister in Meghalaya after the polls,” he added.

He also said that the present government at the Centre led by the BJP under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is sensitive towards women.

“Many schemes announced by the prime minister are women oriented.

Santhosh also acknowledged the fact that women are now in the forefront in many fields like flying fighter jets and guarding the borders of the country.

He also said that the Modi government has brought about many developmental schemes in the state like benefitting 40 per cent households with potable water and building 14 crore toilets among other things.
