BJP leader and Tura MDC Bernard N Marak on Sunday said that the party has invited volunteers from different villages to form committees in every Gram Sevak circle to monitor the implementation of the central schemes.
The decision was taken after the Tura MDC conducted a visit to villages under the Rongram block on Sunday.
“During our visit, we were informed that there were many villages under a single Gram Sevak circle that were not included under JJM, PMAY, SAUBHAGYA, PMGSY, etc. There are other villages that are in total darkness as their villages are yet to be electrified and they are not included under rural electrification and SAUBHAGYA (Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana). Others complained about no road connectivity under PMGSY and lowly maintained road conditions. Elders above 60 years are not included under the old age pension schemes and the farmers are not getting any benefit from PM KISAN even after getting an ID,” Marak said in a statement.
Marak further said many of these villagers are living in a kutcha house and are yet to get pucca houses under PMAY while others complained that some kilos of free rice go missing every month.
These complaints call for proper coordination with the Gram Sevaks and the Blocks or else the villagers and beneficiaries are at a losing end, he said adding that some villagers have been informed that their names have been listed for various schemes but nothing really came out from those lists.
“Taking these complaints into consideration, we have decided to form committees in every GS circle to monitor the implementation of the central schemes,” Marak said.
“We would alert them of various schemes so that there are no lapses in the implementation of the Centre-sponsored schemes. We invite volunteers from every village to contact us and we shall send a team to coordinate and form the committees,” he added.
