BSF organises civic action programme along international border

The event was graced with the presence of Sh K.S. Rana, DIG Sector HQ Jowai and Sh Pankaj Soodan, Commandant 4 Bn BSF.

SHILLONG:

The 4th Battalion of BSF Meghalaya, as part of its efforts to ensure the well-being of the population living along the Indo- Bangladesh border, organised Civic Action Programme cum Free Medical camp at Dawki market area and Jaliakhola primary school under East & West Jaintia Hills district, Meghalaya, on December 16.

The event was graced with the presence of Sh K.S. Rana, DIG Sector HQ Jowai and Sh Pankaj Soodan, Commandant 4 Bn BSF.

During the camp, doctors from BSF conducted free health checkups and distributed medicines to the needy villagers of the bordering villages Dawki, Bakur Jaliakhola and Sankhat. More than 400 local villagers from nearby border areas benefited from the medical camp. As part of the civic action program, computers, school items, ceiling fans, water dispensers, dustbins, etc., valued at more than rupees 06 lakhs, were distributed to the students of different bordering areas schools and needy villagers.

During his speech, Sh K.S. Rana DIG Sector HQ Jowai emphasizing the significance and effectiveness of such Civic Action Programmes organized by the Border Security Force. He said BSF is always committed to the assistance of the Border populace. The noble efforts made by the Border Security Force were appreciated by the local populace.
