Capacity Building Program for government officers held in Shillong

The program is designed to strengthen the capacity of key functionaries involved in rendering a range of public services, welfare programs and core governance functions that enable policymakers to serve citizens efficiently and effectively.

SHILLONG:

The Department of Law in collaboration with the Sambodhi Research & Communication Pvt. Ltd. organised a three-day Capacity Building Program for the government officers under the P.A. Sangma Fellowship for Legal and Policy Research at the Meghalaya Administrative Training Institute (MATI), Mawdiangdiang in Shillong, on May 15.

Meghalaya Law Minister, Dr. Mazel Ampareen Lyngdoh graced the inauguration programme as the chief guest.

The P.A Sangma Fellowship for Legal and Policy Research Program is a capacity-building initiative by the Law Department, Government of Meghalaya.

The program is designed to strengthen the capacity of key functionaries involved in rendering a range of public services, welfare programs and core governance functions that enable policymakers to serve citizens efficiently and effectively.

The Fellowship Program aims to equip the officers to gain on-ground experience in areas of law and policy by providing technical support for senior law officers and other senior officers across different government departments at the state and district levels. Through the programme the Law Department aspires to see a more transparent and public focused system that can result in a sustainable service to the people.

Ram Kumar S, Director MATI, Cyril Diengdoh, Secretary, Law Department, Prof A.K Shiva, Economist-Policy Advisor & Evaluator, Dharmendra Chandurkar, Chief Knowledge Officer Sambodhi Research & Communication Pvt. Ltd were among the others present at the inaugural programme.
