SHILLONG:
Education Minister Rakkam A Sangma, on July 10, informed that the officials from the Human Resource department will be holding a meeting with the state education department before July 20 to address various issues affecting education in the state.
Informing about the same, Sangma said that a delegation from the state met Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on July 4 and apprised him on various issues, including setting up of CUET centres in the state.
“The centre will be sending officials to look into issues that are affecting the Education Department in the state, to understand the problems on ground and address them,” he said.
He informed that the state officials in their meeting held last week discussed setting up of more CUET centres in the state as many students were allotted exam centres outside the state.
Sangma also said that from the next academic session students will have to appear for CUET exam in the state only, and that ahead of 2024 CUET centres will be established at Shillong, Jowai, and Tura.
He informed that CUET exam has been rescheduled for students who were allotted centres outside the state this year.
“The NTA had already communicated to the students about their exam date being rescheduled, and our students have nothing to worry about,” he said.
