SHILLONG:
BJP National Vice President Chuba Ao, on March 7, said that the composition of the government this time is much better, and they will work hard and do much better than in the past.
Speaking to media persons in the city, Ao said that BJP getting just one cabinet berth is not a matter of concern for the party as it has to look after others as partners for the overall wellbeing of the state.
When asked if BJP will enquire into the various allegations of corruption against the government, Ao said, “Let us form the government first, and after that we will work and show how smoothly is the government functioning.”
When asked about BJP dubbing Meghalaya as the most corrupt state under CM Conrad Sangma, Ao said that those are just allegations and every political party makes allegations before the elections.
“During elections this is a common trend among all political parties to engage in mudslinging,” Ao said.
When asked if BJP and NPP are brothers again, Ao said, “People have given the mandate, and we have to run the government, so we will work together.”
On the question if BJP will continue to oppose corruption, Ao said that there is no such proof of corruption against the government, and it is just things are coming up, but as they work, they will come to know more on those lines.
