The Congress on January 28 wrapped up its list of candidates for the upcoming Assembly election announcing five more names and taking the total to 60.
The five names declared are Jhanika Siangshai (Khliehriat), Arbiang Kam Kharsohmat (Amlarem), Chireng Peter R. Marak (Kharkutta), Tweel K. Marak (Resubelpara) and Carla R. Sangma (Rajabala).
The Congress had earlier released names of 55 candidates. The party has now named 10 women candidates, including Siangshai.
Meanwhile, a source from the All India Congress Committee (AICC) told The Meghalayan that the actual campaigning will start once the filing of nominations and other official procedures are complete.
