“Down down BJP, Modi” echoes as Cong stages protest against Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification

Ronnie Lyngdoh, spokesperson and Mylliem MLA voiced out his concerns and said that the BJP is scared and trying to shut Gandhi’s voice that has united the entire country through the Bharat Jodo Yatra.

Shillong:

The Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee, on March 28, held a protest against the disqualification of Congress leader and Member of the parliament Rahul Gandhi at Congress Bhavan in the city.
Ronnie Lyngdoh, spokesperson and Mylliem MLA voiced out his concerns and said that the BJP is scared and trying to shut Gandhi’s voice that has united the entire country through the Bharat Jodo Yatra.
The protest was to show solidarity to Rahul Gandhi after he was sentenced to jail for two years for making a controversial remark against Modi in 2019. As per reports, Gandhi in 2019 took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying, “how come all the thieves have Modi as common surname?”
Taking offense at the comment, Gandhi was slapped with a defamation case in 2019 where recently, he was found guilty and sentenced to jail.
