Agartala:
The Government Railway Police Force (GRPF) in Badarpur railway station of Assam arrested two persons with firearms and live ammunition on Sunday late night while they were waiting for a train to Agartala.
Speaking with reporters, a senior official of GRPF said that during checking of platfrom number one on a tip-off on Sunday late night, the police personnel of GRPF found three persons in a suspicious condition sitting under a railway over bridge.
“The arrested youths were identified as Sumon Kumar, 29, and Bikash Kumar Tiwari, 32, of Bihar. Another person was there with them who was identified as Indrajit, but absconded when we reached near them. During preliminary interrogation they said they were en route to Agartala and were waiting for train”, the official of GRPF said.
He further informed that four 7.65 mm pistols and six magazines with live ammunition were seized from their possession.
“The detainees were immediately taken to Badarpur GRP police station. Investigation in underway”, the official added.
