SHILLONG:
The East Jaintia Hills District Police, in a special operation, arrested five people for allegedly robbing two petrol pumps at Khliehriat, Shillong and Ri Bhoi, from Ryngsong Shylla near Umlawang village, East Jaintia Hills district, on the intervening night of March 12.
Identified as Jotish Daimary, Sansoma Mooshahary, Shankar Boro, Bipul Basumatary and Fajal Hague, the police recovered one AK-47 rifle, 14 live rounds ammunition and machetes, along with several incriminating materials from their possession.
Notably, an accomplice has also been nabbed from Guwahati with the help of Guwahati Police as well.
During the preliminary interrogation, the accused revealed their involvement in the robberies and further investigation is on to unearth the entire conspiracy.
