Education Minister distributes appointment letters to LP school teachers

Meghalaya’s Education Minister, Rakkam A Sangma, along with Power Minister A T Mondol, distributed appointment letters to 192 newly recruited Lower Primary (LP) School teachers of Dadenggre Sub-Division at the Teacher’s Initiative Conclave held at the District Auditorium, Tura.

The event was attended by James P K Sangma, Chairman of MIDC, Arbinstone Marak, MLA of Selsella Constituency, Ambrose Marak, Secretary of the Education department, Jagdish Chelani, Deputy Commissioner of West Garo Hills, Tura, and others.

Minister Rakkam Sangma emphasised that the Teacher’s Initiative Conclave serves as a platform not only for distributing appointment letters but also for articulating the government’s vision and aspirations to the newly recruited teachers.

He urged them to serve with dedication, commitment, and honesty, uplifting the standard of education, especially in government institutions. He congratulated the teachers, encouraging them to be part of the transformative journey envisioned by the government for the people of the State.

Furthermore, Sangma advised the teachers to create a friendly environment for students and cautioned against the detrimental practice of proxy teaching, emphasizing its negative impact on academic development and quality education. He also highlighted the adoption of NCERT Books in the school curriculum to facilitate students’ preparation for various examinations.

Expressing gratitude to the Chief Minister and Education Minister, Power Minister A T Mondol underscored the government’s vision to make the state an educational hub and retain its past glory. He congratulated the teachers, acknowledging the challenges they may face in rural areas and urging them to provide quality education while embodying values of discipline and punctuality.

Chairman of MIDC, James P K Sangma, hailed the event as a crucial step towards enhancing the quality of education in the state and demonstrating the government’s commitment to the future of students.

During the function, the Education Minister, along with the Power Minister and other dignitaries, distributed appointment letters to the newly recruited teachers of Dadenggre Sub-Division.

District School Education Officer R T K Sangma, SDSEO Dadenggre E D Sangma, and officials of the Education Department were also present during the event.
