EJNC submits memorandum to DC regarding DSC

The DC responded by saying that the district residents should rightfully obtain the positions under the DSC in order to support and encourage them to continue their education.

SHILLONG:

The East Jaiñtia National Council (EJNC), led by Sambormi Lyngdoh, submitted a memorandum to East Jaiñtia Hills Deputy Commissioner (DC) A Baranwal on April 3, discussing the various positions managed by the East Jaiñtia Hills district’s District Selection Committee (DSC).

According to the organization’s memorandum, barely any local residents nominated to the DSC in prior years. According to paragraph 2.2 of Office Memorandum No. Per. 272/72/5, dated December 18, 1972, which outlines the reservation of vacancies in services/posts under the state government, local district residents should be given preference for non-transferable positions.

The DC responded by saying that the district residents should rightfully obtain the positions under the DSC in order to support and encourage them to continue their education.

The organisation added that although the declaration does not prevent outsiders from taking the exam, it should give preference to meritorious local students.

The DC vowed to meet their demands by raising the matter up with the authorities.

The EJNC also advised candidates to apply for vacant positions as soon as they are announced and to put in a lot of effort if they want to succeed.
