The Mawbyrsiew group, which is a youth group, is set to organise the first Miss Umsning Constituency pageant and mini fete on December 9 and 10.
The youth of Umsning are organising the event at Umsning Nongthymmai with the intention to raise funds for the village and also the sports club.
Talking to reporters, leader of the group Binestar Kylla said the competition is only for the residents of Umsning constituency. The winner will get a cash prize of Rs 20,000 and will also get to compete in the Meghalaya Face 2023 pageant which will be held in Shillong.
Apart from Kylla, the group’s organising secretary Bregie Sun, working president P Dkhar, and George Dkhar informed that there will be many other activities like fashion show for children under 10 years, slow bicycle race, mawpoint, penalty shootout. For entertainment, Colours, Jlawdohtir, Dj Cube, Dj Meban and others will be performing.
