Hamlet to pursue ILP, Sixth Schedule issues

The former KSU leader also expressed confidence that the people will repose their faith in him and said, “People of Mylliem constituency will vote for me again, they will send me to the legislative assembly.”

SHILLONG:

Sitting legislator of Mylliem Hamletson Dohling, on February 6, assured to aggressively pursue the demand for implementation of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) and inclusion of Khasi and Garo languages in the Eighth Schedule to the Constitution of India if reelected in the upcoming elections.

“…if people vote for me again I will definitely follow up the issue of ILP along with Khasi and Garo languages,” Dohling told reporters after filing his nomination.

The former KSU leader also expressed confidence that the people will repose their faith in him and said, “People of Mylliem constituency will vote for me again, they will send me to the legislative assembly.”

Denying the allegations against him, Dohling said, “That is totally wrong, my house is open 24×7 right from 2018 till today.”

The former PDF leader said, “In Mylliem constituency they know me by my name and they will definitely vote in favour of my name and not in the name of the party as people have confidence and faith in me.”

On his decision to join the NPP, Dohling said, “See I respect the opinions and the advice of my leaders. This is based on the advice of all leaders and 36 villagers of the constituency we have decided to join NPP. I did not decide alone, we decided together.”

He said people are joining the NPP every day. “Not only from the Congress but from other parties they will come and join the NPP,” he added.
