Health Minister inspects Nursing School,Trauma Center, CHC in Ri Bhoi district

Ampareen Lyngdoh said, "Today's inspection is to check the requirements of the institutions before they start to function. The Trauma Centre and MCH Hospital needs specialists, and establishing a new institution will not make sense without one. We want all these centres to provide good services once they have started functioning."

SHILLONG:

Health Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh, on May 8, visited General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) School, Trauma Center and Community Health Center (CHC) in Ri Bhoi district.

The visit was accompanied by deputy commissioner of Ri Bhoi District Arpit Upadhyaya, Nongpoh MLA, Mayral Born Syiem who is also the Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Health Department, and officers from the health department.

Speaking to the press after the inspection, Mayral Born Syiem said, “This inspection is to ensure that all four health institutions in the district will perform well and be an asset for the state. We will ensure that these institutions will be functional as soon as possible.”

Additionally, Ampareen Lyngdoh said, “Today’s inspection is to check the requirements of the institutions before they start to function. The Trauma Centre and MCH Hospital needs specialists, and establishing a new institution will not make sense without one. We want all these centres to provide good services once they have started functioning.”

“The hospital will take time because lots of things are needed to be done, even though the construction of the building is more or less complete, but we need power, water supply and man power will slow down the process. We will have a review meeting on July 20 to note the things we need to do, so that the hospital will start operating,” Lyngdoh added.
