NONGPOH:
A surprise check conducted on January 5 at a company in Ri Bhoi district revealed that workers from outside the state did not possess valid documents.
The exercise, conducted by Hynñiewtrep Integrated Territorial Organisation (HITO) Ri Bhoi district at Indradhanush Gas Grid Limited at Nong Ladaw in Ri Bhoi district, allegedly found that none of the labourers coming from outside the state had labour licenses even after working with the company for more than a month.
A warning was issued that if a valid document is not presented, they will be unable to work in the state.
The group also urged local residents not to rent out places to these labourers coming from outside the state.
