SHILLONG:
The Hynniewtrep National Youth Front (HNYF) Southern Ri War Circle has written to the Superintendent of Police East Khasi Hills alleging that overloaded trucks carrying boulders were escorted by the police.
The organisation alleged that on June 7, 2023, they found police and the police special forces were escorting overloaded trucks ferrying boulders in plying the fragile Dawki Bridge.
The organisation was trying to stop overloaded trucks from plying along the Dawki bridge.
Stating that it is hard for the organisation to believe that the police department would be involved in illegal activities, they requested the SP to look into the matter.
