NONGPOH:
The Hynniewtrep National Youth Front (HNYF) has threatened to shut down the power station of Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited (MeECL) if the department fails to restore power supply in Ri Bhoi district.
The district has been suffering frequent power cuts.
The HNYF 20th Mile Circle along with the HNYF Northern Region unit met the SDO and engineer of the MeECL, Nongpoh, to seek clarification on the matter.
Donroi Kshiar, assistant secretary of the HNYF, urged the state government to resolve the issue at the earliest.
