Independent legislator Samuel Sangma resigns as MLA

He will likely contest on the saffron party's ticket in the upcoming Assembly poll from Baghmara.

SHILLONG:

Independent legislator from Baghmara Samuel Sangma has resigned as a member of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly.

Sangma, who first won in 2003, joined the BJP, along with three other MLAs — Benedik Marak, Ferlin Sangma and HM Shangpliang, in New Delhi in December last year.

He will likely contest on the saffron party’s ticket in the upcoming Assembly poll from Baghmara.
