JOWAI:
The concerned Jaintia Students’ Movement (JSM) has petitioned the Executive Engineer, PWD Jowai South Division, and local MLA Wailadmiki Shylla to repair the Jowai bypass from Lad College, Salini Colony till Myntdu bridge connecting the Jowai Shillong Road NH 44.
The deplorable condition of the Jowai bypass road is leading to massive traffic jams in Jowai town, causing inconvenience not only to students and government employees who have to rush to reach their destinations on time but also to the common people.
A team of delegation of JSM led by its president, Ribok N Biam, general secretary, Shanskhem Suchiang, and working president Jordan Rymbai submitted a letter to request the EE, Jowai South Division to take up the matter and repair the road at the earliest.
The group also urged Shylla to look into the matter urgently while also luading him for the road development in the entire Jowai town.
“We are happy to have met the local MLA who assured us to take up the matter seriously”, said Biam.
