KHADC staff demand release of arrears

However, KHADC, Chief Executive Member (CEM) Titostarwell Chyne informed that the reason for the delay is because of the non-release of the Council's share for the year 2022-23 by the state government.

SHILLONG:

Employees of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) on January 23 went on a pen down strike demanding release of their arrears for the year 2022-23.

However, KHADC, Chief Executive Member (CEM) Titostarwell Chyne informed that the reason for the delay is because of the non-release of the Council’s share for the year 2022-23 by the state government.

Chyne also informed that the government released the KHADC’s share for the year 2021-22 in December last year.

The CEM added that the Council will release 50 percent of the arrears for the year 2022-23 soon.
