The Khun Hynniewtrep National Awakening Movement (KHNAM) met the chief secretary on November 27, and submitted a memorandum seeking to know the progress made by the Expert Committee on the State Reservation Policy (SRP).
“We have been informed that the Expert Committee, which was constituted to study the State Reservation Policy (SRP), met on November 23. They will reconvene on December 6 and hold a third meeting in Shillong after that. Following that, the Expert Committee will receive proposals from all political parties and interested parties, KHNAM’s working president, Thomas Passah told reporters.
Passah said that the matter was taking too long and that amending a two-page policy shouldn’t take this long.
