KSU demands immediate repair of roads to prevent mishaps

The Union extends its sincere condolences to each and every family of the victims of the recent road accident.

SHILLONG:

The Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) has asked the state government to immediately repair the road to Thieddieng village to prevent future mishap.

In a statement, publicity secretary of the KSU South West Khasi Hills District Macdonald Marbaniang said that on June 13, six people including a two-year-old lost their lives after a Bolero they were travelling in fell into a deep gorge due to the dilapidated condition of the road to Thieddieng village near Mawsynram.

“We therefore urge the state government especially the PWD (Roads) and the district administration to take immediate steps in repairing this stretch of the road to ensure safety of the general public and to prevent such tragic incident from occurring in the near future,” he said.

The Union extends its sincere condolences to each and every family of the victims of the recent road accident.
