NONGPOH:
The Khasi Student’s Union (KSU) Sohra circle, on February 28, organised a marathon to commemorate the second death anniversary of Lurshai Hynniewta, a member of the KSU who was murdered during the Ichamati conflict two years ago.
Hundreds of young girls and boys, men and women, participated in this competition which began in Kor Shongthait. B Khongshei, wife of Hynniewta, flagged off the run in the presence of several KSU leaders and the officer in-charge of the Sohra police station.
Apart from the marathon, many newly elected leaders and members of the Union’s Sohra circle took their oaths on this occasion.
