Laban Bengalee Boys’ HS School shines in HSSLC exams

The second position was secured by Akshat Poddar of St. Anthony’s Hr. Sec. School with 478 marks.

SHILLONG:

Laban Bengalee Boys’ Higher Secondary School in Shillong has once again proved its mettle by producing toppers in both the Science and Commerce Stream in the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) examinations of the Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBoSE).

Rishab Purkayastha of Laban Bengalee Boys’ Hr. Sec. School topped the HSSLC Commerce stream with 484 marks. The second position was secured by Akshat Poddar of St. Anthony’s Hr. Sec. School with 478 marks. The third position was equally secured by Satakshi Das and Sneha Paul, both belonging to St. Anthony’s Hr. Sec. School, with 463 marks.

In the Science stream, Arnab Dutta of the same school topped the exams with 483 marks.
The second position was secured by Steffi Niza Snaitang of St. Edmund’s Hr. Sec. School with 477 marks and Eshita Bhattacharjee of St Anthony’s Hr. Sec. School, in the third place with 469 marks.

In both Science and Commerce, Laban Bengalee Boys’ HS School sealed the fourth position. Subam Das bagged the fourth rank in the Science stream while Akshat Das secured the fourth position in Commerce stream.

In the Commerce stream, a total of 79.31 pass percentage was recorded this year, a slight decrease from last year’s percentage which was 83.63 per cent, while in the Science Stream, 78.84 pass percentage was recorded as compared to 71.62 per cent in 2022.
