Nongpoh:
A local taxi driver from Nongpoh was found dead in his taxi on the morning of January 31.
Identified as Shemphang Thangkhiew (45), he is a resident of Pahambir Them in Ribhoi. According to reports, he last had a conversation with his family at 7 pm on the said day while returning from Mawkhla where he had gone for a picnic.
Police personnel from Nongpoh PS, who retrieved the body from the spot, couldn’t ascertain the cause of his death.
After conducting all the formalities, the body was taken to Civil Hospital Nongpoh, however, no post mortem was conducted upon the request of the family members.
