Shillong:
Following an intelligence tip-off concerning the transport of illegal contraband, the Anti Narcotic Task Force (ANTF), East Khasi Hills, seized 40 soap cases weighing 559 gms of heroin, on July 31.
Following a tip-off, the team immediately swung into action and intercepted the said vehicle at Jingkieng, Demthring by Shaniah Kharmawphlang at around 6:30 pm and detained the vehicle bearing registration number ML05 U 1782.
Later, a trap was laid for the consignment receivers was laid, and two persons were intercepted and arrested. On further interrogation, the supplier identified as Esther Ramhmangaih (37), from Madanriting Thembasuk Block F, was arrested.
A case under the NDPS Act is registered at Rynjah Police Station for further investigation.
