MAIRANG:
The president of United Democratic Party (UDP) and Mairang MLA, Metbah Lyngdoh, on December 19, rejected the allegations that his party is working with the Congress.
Speaking to the media, Lyngdoh said the UDP is a regional party and the Congress is a national party with their own political ideologies.
When asked about his preparation for the assembly elections next year, Lyngdoh said that he is prepared to contest. “I have managed to win for two consecutive terms because I tried to diligently serve the people of my constituency throughout these five years”, Lyngdoh added.
On religion and politics, Lyngdoh informed that there are people who belong to a particular religion who support him during the elections. But on his part, he will not mix religion and politics. “I will be happy to see that these entities should function on their own and serve best the society”, he stated.
