SHILLONG:
The Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) has elected the adhoc president of the Sohiong Block Congress Committee (SBCC) after dissolving the previous block.
Addressing the press on Tuesday, acting president Badonbor Mawlong said, “The previous block was dissolved after speculations that HDR Lyngdoh intends to join UDP.”
He added that a meeting will be held on June 25 at Mawmaram, Sohiong where they will strengthen the party. The new block committee of Sohiong will also be on the lookout for a party candidate from Sohiong.
Former SBCC president W Thabah said that they have been in the Congress for over 25 years and it would be difficult for them to leave.
