Mukul committed blunder joining TMC: Kharlukhi

According to him, Mukul Sangma has become a mere supporter of somebody who is a contender for the throne.

SHILLONG:

National Peoples’ Party (NPP) state president and Rajya Sabha MP WR Kharlukhi on November 8 said the former chief minister and currently leader of opposition Mukul Sangma has committed a “blunder” by joining the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC).

According to him, Mukul Sangma has become a mere supporter of somebody who is a contender for the throne.

“In the Congress, Mukul Sangma is a contender for the throne but in the AITC, he has to be satisfied as a mere supporter of somebody who is a contender for the throne,” Kharlukhi told reporters.

Further talking about the prospects of the former chief minister, the NPP state president said, “I don’t see any chance of him even eyeing the throne. In the Congress, yes I would have agreed that he is a contender but in the AITC I don’t see him even eyeing the throne.”

Dr Kharlukhi said that joining the AITC was a big political blunder made by Mukul Sangma.

“Last time I had said Mukul Sangma is a seasoned politician and he will not commit a political blunder and I did say also that Vincent Pala is also an experienced politician and he will not allow Mukul to commit a blunder,” he added.

Mukul Sangma along with 11 other former Congress MLAs had merged with the AITC in December last year.
