SOHIONG:
United Democratic Party (UDP) candidate Synshar Lyngdoh Thabah, who won the Sohiong seat on May 13, said that a new era has started in the constituency which witnessed drought for the last five years.
“This is a clear message – don’t come and buy people with money, come with love. As we said, the sympathy wave went in our favour,” he said.
Asked what changes will he bring in the constituency, Thabah said that he will start from ground zero, and the work starts from tomorrow. “I will carry forward whatever my uncle has done” he said.
Speaking on his priorities, the newly-elected legislator said that upgrading of all educational institutions will be his first priority.
It may be mentioned that Thabah of the United Democratic Party (UDP) won the Sohiong seat after defeating his closest rival, Samlin Malngiang of the National People’s Party (NPP) by 3422 votes, including postal votes.
