No more changes to SSLC merit list, says MBOSE

TURA:

The Controller of Examinations of MBOSE, T R Laloo, has said that there will be no further changes to the merit list of this year’s Class X SSLC results after three changes took place in the past two weeks.

On Tuesday a new entrant to the state top twenty list was announced with Joty Basfor of Embee Rosebud Secondary School, Tura being elevated to the 20th position in the state after a discrepancy was found in her Science and Technology marks and a rectification was carried out.

Earlier, another student Arghadeep Ghosh of Sherwood School Tura who was earlier placed in third position got elevated to 2nd position as a co-holder of the rank with another two toppers, while the 20th rank holder was pushed up to 19th rank with a similar re-evaluation of marks.

Following this changes several queries were raised over the style of placement by the board.

Questions were raised as to why the other rank holders were not elevated accordingly since the 3rd position became vacant after Ghosh got elevated.

“MBOSE has a policy that there can be no changes to the rank positions once it is published. However, if marks are changed during re-evaluation and the candidate becomes a co-holder we will place him or her to that nearest position. That is why this year’s Top 20 SSLC results list will not have any 3rd rank holder since Arghadeep became a co-holder of the 2nd position,” says MBOSE Controller of Examinations T R Laloo.
