A man in West Khasi Hills District was sentenced to eight years of rigorous imprisonment for sexually assaulting a minor.
The Court of the Special Judge (POCSO), Nongstoin convicted Santius Lyngkhoi vide Judgement order dated October 21 and sentenced him to undergo eight years rigorous imprisonment with fine of Rs 30000 under Section 4 of the Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012.
The matter was reported to Nongstoin Police Station on February 27 and the police team’s effort led to the immediate arrest of the accused.
