GUWAHATI:
The 81st All India Industrial Exhibition is currently underway with exhibition of genuine handicraft and handloom products from the Northeast, at Numaish, Nampally in Hyderabad.
The exhibition, which started on February 25, is displaying traditional products from the Northeast at Stall No 1156. The exhibition is scheduled to continue till April 10.
NE-SHILP, a society promoted by NEDFi, has brought a collection of handloom and handicraft products comprising value-added colourful handloom products such as stoles, cushion covers, mekhela-chador, as well as natural fibre products prepared from cane, bamboo, water hyacinth, shital pati and cardamom fibre, among others.
There are other traditional handloom products such as gamocha, wrap-around and sarees too prepared from cotton, eri, mulberry and muga made by different tribes and communities from the eight Northeastern states.
Visitors can visit the exhibition stall from 4 pm to 10-30 pm as per the timings of the exhibition.
