NPP gearing up for 2023 Assembly elections: CM

On the resignations of the two NPP MLAs - Benedict Marak (Raksamgre) and Ferlin Sangma (Selsella), the CM refused to say anything except to wish them well.

SHILLONG:

National People’s Party (NPP) national president and chief minister Conrad K Sangma on November 29 the party is gearing up its preparation for the upcoming 2023 Assembly elections in the state.

Refusing to comment on the resignations of the two NPP MLAs – Benedict Marak (Raksamgre) and Ferlin Sangma (Selsella), Conrad said, “You will have to ask them why they resigned but it is okay it happens in politics, it happens in many parties, it happens to many MLAs and they have taken their decisions so I have nothing to say about it.”

Wishing them the very best, the NPP chief said, “I wish them the very best and they can contest from any political party that they wish, and as for my party, we will move forward and we will prepare for the elections.”

Benedict and Ferlin are all set to join the BJP in the first week of December in Delhi.
