As many as 52,700 students across the state began their crucial Class X Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examinations on March 3 alongside students from the Class XII Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) students.
There are 157 centres across the state, including 68 in Garo Hills region, where students are appearing for the SSLC examinations.
This year, the girls will outnumber the boys, 30,205 against 22,495.
There are as many as 1,839 affiliated and unaffiliated SSLC institutions in the state.
For the Class XII HSSLC exams, 32,006 students spread across the Arts, Science and Commerce streams are appearing this year’s exams spread across 106 centres, including 40 in the Garo Hills region. There are 391 affiliated and unaffiliated HSSLC institutions where the students will write their exams as well.
