Pala stresses on door-to-door campaign to outline Congress’ plans

Addressing party workers of the Nongthymmai Block Congress Committee (NBCC), Pala said despite ill comments against the party, history itself will tell what Congress is in Meghalaya.

SHILLONG:

Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Vincent H Pala on December 16 emphasised a door-to-door campaign to outline the party’s objectives and plans as well as the candidates running in the next Assembly elections.

Addressing party workers of the Nongthymmai Block Congress Committee (NBCC), Pala said despite ill comments against the party, history itself will tell what Congress is in Meghalaya.

Boosting party workers, Pala mentioned, “Those who have left the party, they have left, but opportunities created by the Almighty are all good because, by someone leaving the party, it paves way for others to come and join the party. We have young candidates who are knowledgeable and with good educational qualifications, and the party workers and supporters should feel discouraged.”

He said that Congress has decided to field Banidashisha Kharkongor from the Nongthymmai constituency, further adding that Congress won not less than 12 seats out of 24.

The chief urged party workers to work hard and informed they have prepared its election manifesto which will be released soon.

Banidashisha Kharkongor talked about the problems that the state is facing at present be it women, and the youth not only in the constituency but in the state as a whole, recalling good works and policies that were implemented by the Congress.

Former Congress MLA from Nongthymmai Tony Curtis Lyngdoh said that those who have left Congress have left for their own interest but not for the interest of people.
