SHILLONG:
President of Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC), Vincent H Pala said that the people of the state should not be misled by political parties working with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming assembly polls.
In a meeting at Lyngkhoi under Sohiong constituency, the MPCC chief said that Christians and other minorities in the state are living in fear due to the atrocities meted out to them.
“Look at Assam and Chhattisgarh what happened to the Christians there. They are under scrutiny in these places,” Pala said.
Meanwhile, Congress candidate from Sohiong, S Osborne Kharjana commented on the current political situation in the country and said that BJP’s first priority is to bring in the Uniform Civil Code in the country putting the minority communities in danger.
