SHILLONG:
PHE Minister Marquise Marak, on April 20, said that the department is aware about the prevailing water crisis in Shillong, and it will be calling officials for a review meeting to see what can be done on the issue.
Marak said that Global warming is one of reasons why the catchment areas are drying up, thereby leading to water scarcity.
“The supply system is getting affected because the catchment areas have dried up, however, the department and my officials are trying our level best to see what can be done and we will call for a meeting soon,” he said.
