PM Modi to miss Meghalaya’s Statehood Day Celebrations

SHILLONG:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has conveyed his inability to grace the 50th year of statehood celebrations, slated on January 21.

Informing this on January 19, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong said, “The Prime Minister has communicated that he cannot come to the state. However, there will be a kind of statement to be given by him (PM) virtually.”

He said the chief secretary and the department concerned are working out to fit the same in the programme to be held at Jawaharlal Nehru stadium at Polo.

The state government had invited the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to grace the programme on the occasion of the Statehood Day Celebrations.
