The Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) Shella area unit along with residents of Shella and adjoining areas held a public meeting where they held up torches (dongmusa) to protest against the irregular power supply in Shella.
In a statement issued here, vice-president of HYC Shella Bantyngshain Natep said that the area was in darkness for many days due to irregular power supply.
“It is not the first time but every year, whenever it rains, the people will have to sit in darkness. It seems the higher authorities are not paying heed to the people’s plight,” he said.
The people burnt effigies of MePDCL and the MDA-II.
