State Congress president Vincent H Pala informed that he has written to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to exempt the state of Meghalaya as it is under Sixth Schedule.
He said, “BJP is playing it very cleverly. Until now, we have not seen the draft. They have left it to the Uttarakhand government to draft the bill and at the same time they have sought views through the Law Commission.”
He said that religious organisations have written to the Law Commission.
“India flourishes because of diversity and not uniformity. The BJP is trying to bulldoze and impose on others. That is not possible. India will be strong only through diversity and not uniformity,” Pala said.
