A 4.8 magnitude earthquake struck Northeast India on June 16 at 10:16 am. The epicenter, with a depth of 70 kms, was traced in the neighbouring country of Bangladesh.
The earthquake was felt in several areas of Bangladesh, including Dhaka, Chittagong, and Sylhet; the quake was also felt in many parts of Northeast India.
This is the second earthquake to strike Bangladesh in recent weeks.
On May 26, a 5.2 magnitude earthquake struck the country, with its epicenter located in the same area as that of today.
