Despite losing two partners early on, he found solid support from Kishan Lyngdoh (47 from 84 balls), adding 71 for the third wicket.

GANDHINAGAR:

Raj Biswa, leading Meghalaya’s response to Mizoram’s first-innings total in the Ranji Trophy plate group match in Anand, Gujarat, fell just six runs short of what would have been his third first-class century. In the ongoing game, Mizoram, after winning the toss and opting to bat first, scored 359 before being dismissed. At stumps, Meghalaya stood at 220/5, trailing by 139 runs.

Raj Biswa’s impressive innings of 94 not out at the top of the order puts him in sight of his first Ranji century since 2019. Despite losing two partners early on, he found solid support from Kishan Lyngdoh (47 from 84 balls), adding 71 for the third wicket. Raj faced 216 deliveries, hitting eight fours and the only six of the innings. After Kishan’s departure, he partnered with Jaskirat Singh Sachdeva (21 from 46) for 53 runs and an unbeaten 61 with Ram Gurung for the sixth wicket.

In their innings, Mizoram posted a total of 359, with guest player Agni Chopra contributing significantly with 105 runs from 90 balls. Meghalaya’s bowling efforts were led by Akash Kumar Choudhury (4/79), Arbin Singh (2/92), Raj (1/28), Swarajeet Das (1/30), Jaskirat (1/34), and Dippu Ch Sangma (1/57).

As the match progresses, Meghalaya aims to surpass Mizoram’s total and establish a lead, with hopes to witness Raj reaching a well-deserved century.
