Removal of equipment from MCH upsets KSU

The union visited the hospital to inquire about the alleged transfer of equipment from one district to another.

Nongstoin:

The Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) West Khasi Hills district has expressed disappointment over the removal of equipment from the Maternity & Child (MCH) Hospital in Nongstoin on Monday.

The union visited the hospital to inquire about the alleged transfer of equipment from one district to another.

The union members were unable to meet with the district medical and health officer, however, they were told that the equipment intended for the MCH had been moved to another district.

The KSU then urged the government to re-equip the hospital.

It should be noted that the Health department maintained the essential equipment for the hospital in November 2022. However, in May 2023, they shifted all of the equipment to Civil Hospital in Mawkyrwat employing two trucks.
