Resignations won’t affect state unit of BJP: Manik Saha

Following the two MLAs resignation, Saha informed that he has called a meeting with the top leaders of the BJP to review the overall political situation in Tripura

AGARTALA:

Manik Saha, president of the Tripura unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), on February 7, claimed that the party is not worried about its two MLAs – Sudip Roy Barman and Asish Kumar Saha – leaving the party.

Earlier on Monday, both Barman and Saha had submitted their resignations before Assembly Speaker Ratan Chakraborty.

Reacting to this move, the BJP chief said, “They have the right to resign from the post of MLA in accordance with the democratic system. Going forward, they will know what’s best for them. We are not worried about this.”

Saha also added that the party was already aware of their plan, therefore, mentally prepared to accept their resignation. He also added that he has called a meeting with the top leaders of the BJP to review the overall political situation in Tripura.
