RKSF insects PMGSY road from Mawrang to Rambraibah, demands reconstruction

President of the RKSF, Mawkordor Kharsyiemlieh informed that the inspection revealed the shoddy construction work that did nor adhere to the Detailed Project Report (DPR) and some portions of the newly laid blacktop had already cracked.

SHILLONG:

The Ri Khasi Sepngi Federation (RKSF), an NGO based in  Nongstoin, along with village heads from the Rambrai area, inspected the recently constructed PMGSY road from Mawrang to Rambraibah on January 3 following numerous complaints from villagers regarding the poor quality of construction and blacktopping.

President of the RKSF, Mawkordor Kharsyiemlieh informed that the inspection revealed the shoddy construction work that did nor adhere to the Detailed Project Report (DPR) and some portions of the newly laid blacktop had already cracked.

Taking cognizance of the matter, the RKSF has demanded reconstruction of the road as per the DPR specifications, and non-compliance will result in stringent action against the contractor.

Kharsyiemlieh further informed that the matter has been discussed with the Executive Engineer of the PWD (Roads), and the Engineer has assured the RKSF that an SDO (Sub-Divisional Officer) will officially inspect the road soon to find the loopholes.
